All are welcome! Our coalition meets about every 6 weeks to discuss progress on our ongoing projects, collaborate on events and brainstorm future projects. Food and fun is always provided! Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco. As a teacher, youth leader or health advocate, you can organize events to raise awareness of the tobacco problem, encourage youth to stay tobacco-free and urge strong action to protect kids from tobacco.

10:30 a.m. Opening Session and Prevention Champions Awards Presentation
11:00 a.m.- Noon Smart Approaches to Marijuana with Kevin Sabet and former Congressman Patrick Kennedy: Get all the latest information about what is going on concerning marijuana laws at all levels of government across the U.S. and developing marijuana policy based on reputable science and sound principles of public health and safety.
12:45–1:45 p.m. Lunch on your own – off-site or with your legislator in cafeteria
2-3:00 p.m. Special Session for youth and young adults to meet with Kevin Sabet
Kevin’s first work in drug policy began when he was a youth member of his local community coalition. He will share his story and answer questions about his journey from teen prevention advocate to national drug policy expert.
2-3:00 p.m. Networking session for coalition coordinators and others interested in statewide substance use issues
DEA Sponsored: Free opportunity to dispose of unused or expired medications at the Burlington Police Department and other locations throughout VT.
For kids of all ages!
The Burlington Partnership for a Healthy Community will host a table at this event with a button making activity for kids and resources for parents. Come visit us while you are there!
