National Prevention Week is a SAMHSA-supported annual health observance dedicated to increasing public awareness of, and action around, substance abuse and mental health issues. This observance is an opportunity to join with other individuals, organizations, and coalitions in your community to promote prevention efforts, educate others about behavioral health issues, and create and strengthen community partnerships.

Burlington Responsible Beverage Service: Floor Host Training @ Community Room

Floor Host Training from the Northeast Safety and Security Training Academy (NESSTA is a subsidiary of Green Mtn. Concert Services).

This intensive security and server training is for Burlington cabarets and restaurants ONLY!
Saturday, July 20th from 10am – 3pm
Burlington Police Department-Community Room, 1 North Ave., Burlington

Cost: Normally the cost of this training is $75-85/person. For this time only the training will be provided at NO COST to the first 45 people who sign up (thank you to the Burlington Partnership for a Healthy Community and the Church Street Marketplace for financial support).

Details: The training is designed specifically for Burlington establishments with on-premise alcohol licenses to teach managers, door and security staff and waitstaff practical strategies to reduce violent incidents, calls for BPD service, underage drinking, drunk driving, disasters and evacuations, and other issues of liability. This training is a proactive, prevention-focused opportunity to give you, your managers, and staff the knowledge and skills to make difficult decisions that can protect your business.

DLC Class 1 Alcohol License Training
Jul 20 @ 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm

We have worked with Department of Liquor Control (DLC) to host a 1st class license alcohol license seminar directly following The Floor Host training in the BPD Community Room from 3:30-6:00pm. All security, waitstaff, and bartenders from businesses licensed to sell alcohol are required to take this training every two years.
