The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
Please check www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/back after April 1, 2018 to locate collection sites near you.
For the last 8 years we have worked with local tweens and teens to implement Project Sticker Shock around prom and graduation season to raise awareness of the consequences of underage drinking for teens and to those who provide alcohol to minors.
This year we’ve opened up the volunteer opportunity for adults to join students from our youth prevention groups in this annual project, because we know that prevention works when we all work together.
We will begin with lunch and a short training about the activity. Then teams of adults and youth will be assigned local alcohol retailers to visit and sticker the alcohol and cooler windows with messages reminding people not to provide alcohol to minors.
Please reach out to Jessica at jessica@burlingtonpartnership.org with any additional questions you have about the project.
