The Opioid Coordination Council invites you to the second annual Opioid Overdose Awareness Day on Wednesday, April 11, 11:45 – 12:45 at the Cedar Creek Room in the Vermont Statehouse in Montpelier.
Opioid Overdose Awareness Day is a special opportunity to shine a spotlight on the continuing need to address the stigma associated with addiction, the impact on the lives of families and loved ones, and the hope we all share for prevention, treatment, and recovery. This is one day in a year when we can celebrate the progress we’ve made in addressing the opioid crisis, acknowledge the pain and struggles of this disease, and identify the need to continue our efforts in prevention, treatment, recovery and enforcement.
We will hear from Governor Scott, as well as key representatives from the Legislature, a Recovery Center, a First Responder, and from individuals who have lost a family member to overdose.
Please join us for our annual event to honor Burlington’s prevention heroes. We are also celebrating our 10th anniversary! This is a free an open event however we ask that people register here to help us coordinate food and seating: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/roots-of-prevention-2018-tickets-42918310823
