Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco. As a teacher, youth leader or health advocate, you can organize events to raise awareness of the tobacco problem, encourage youth to stay tobacco-free and urge strong action to protect kids from tobacco. All are welcome! Our coalition meets about every 6 weeks to discuss progress on our ongoing projects, collaborate on events and brainstorm future projects. Food and fun is always provided! Groups of youth and adult chaperones in will work this afternoon to reduce the negative consequences of underage drinking prior to the BHS prom this weekend. Teams of adolescents, accompanied by an adult chaperones from the Burlington Partnership for a Healthy Community and Burlington High School, put stickers on multi-packs of alcoholic beverages and on alcohol cooler windows at participating stores in Burlington.
