The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will hold its 12th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible way of disposing of unneeded prescription drugs. More than 6.4 million pounds of medication have been collected over the last eleven Take Back Days in the US.

The Burlington Partnership for a Healthy Community invites you to attend to our 8th annual
Roots of Prevention Award Celebration to publicly honor the outstanding contributions of our awardees to support Burlington to be a safe and healthy place for us all. 
Registration and breakfast provided by Sugarsnap starts at 8:00am. Ceremony from 8:30-10:30am.
This event is free and open to the public. A $10 donation is appreciated, but not required to attend.
Burlington Community Substance Abuse Prevention Education Series:
The Hungry Heart an award-winning documentary film on prescription drug and opiate addiction and recovery in Vermont by local filmmaker, Bess O’Brien. Through the movie we see the many faces and diverse populations of addiction, and their continued search for a life of recovery. After the screening there will be time for dialogue and a Q & A with Bess O’Brien, a cast member, and a local treatment provider who can connect families to resources in the community. The teens from Above the Influence Burlington are working with BPHC to create ways for the community to discuss and support healthy choices in Burlington! Join them to discuss trends from the Burlington Youth Risk Behavior Survey Data. A free dinner will be provided.
The event will include:
Some education on key issues like e-cigarettes, marijuana, and prescription drugs.
A look at our local data on youth risk behaviors and community strengths
Discussion with teens on the issues they face like peer pressure, sexual health, and drugs and alcohol.
