0ParentIN Virtual Event: No One Size Fits All: Discussion on Parenting Tweens & Teens Through COVID-19
One of the most pressing concerns for many of us right now is managing daily life with our families under these unusual and trying circumstances around COVID-19. For those of us with preteens or teens in the home, our best-laid plans for supporting them may be thrown off during this time. We’ve heard recently from parents who are struggling with new feelings and challenges for them and their teens during quarantine and remote learning.
ParentIN meet-ups are a place to come together with other parents and caregivers in the area to share our questions, stories, challenges, and highlights. Additionally, it allows us the opportunity to discuss healthy behaviors for our tweens and teens in Chittenden County. This event will be a digital space to meet up with other parents to ask questions and seek support from one another and our hosts related to parenting tweens and teens through COVID-19.
Meet-up facilitators will discuss and answer questions asked by participants and each other about topics such as: managing stress and anxiety during this time, supporting the health and wellbeing of your tweens and teens, substance use prevention, and how to get help if your child is struggling.
Meet our facilitators:
-
Danielle Jatlow, LICSW, LADC is the Director of Community Health Initiatives/Substance Abuse Mental Health Services at Centerpoint Adolescent Treatment Services. Danielle has worked with adolescents and families in various roles and capacities for over 18 years in San Francisco, New York City, and now in Burlington, Vermont.
-

We encourage participants to submit questions and comments for our facilitators to answer during the event. Please send your questions to tori@burlingtonpartnership.org by Sunday, May 31.
