PREVENTION DAY 2022Celebrating Community Building through Collaboration
April 7, 2022 from 9am – 2pm
Prevention Works! VT invites you to Prevention Day 2022 on Thursday, April 7th in Montpelier. This annual event brings together youth, prevention organizations, and supporters to educate decision makers and celebrate the great substance misuse prevention community in Vermont. This year, Prevention Day will be held in collaboration with the OVX (Our Voices Xposed) Statehouse Rally.
Activities from 9:00 am to 2:00pm include:
- OVX Statehouse March and Rally from Montpelier City Hall to the Statehouse to raise awareness of the impact youth targeted nicotine products such as flavored vapes. All are welcome to join the OVX youth groups as we march through Montpelier to share their concerns on the Statehouse steps. Youth and others will present.
- Meet and greet with legislators and state decision makers to discuss substance misuse prevention and other health policy issues.
- Hands-on Workshop highlighting Community Building through Collaboration.
- Lunch will be provided. Includes an optional scavenger hunt around the area!
- Awards Ceremony-Presentation of Prevention Champion Awards and OVX Program Awards
- Prevention Works! VT Annual Meeting to highlight and celebrate the accomplishments of the network of prevention organizations and advocates in Vermont.
- Networking-At the core of celebrating will be time to network!
LOCATION: Activities will take place on the Statehouse Steps and Lawn, and in the Pavilion Auditorium and Snelling Center in Montpelier. Virtual options may be available for the Awards Ceremony and PW Annual Meeting.
